A former factory is transformed into a pared-down space…
Some say homes are an expression of their owners, and this beautiful, pared-down space reveals a great deal about Jette Egelund and her partner, classical conductor Mogens Dahl.
Jette originally bought the building in the up-and-coming Islands Brygge area of Copenhagen five years ago to house the showroom for Vipp (the Danish company of which she is CEO), but they ended up moving in on one of the floors themselves.
Jette inherited the business from her father and now her grown-up children, Sofie and Kasper, are involved with Vipp, too.
The vision required to turn the humble bin into a design icon, coupled with the determination and drive needed to transform a small family concern into an international brand, are all evidence Jette had what it takes to convert an empty former factory into this warm, contemporary loft-style space.
The revamp took a year and required stripping back the building.
